It all started in 2008 after a few welding classes at our local community college. Creating through welding was fun and intriguing, but the detailed specifications of industrial fabrication left me cold. So, a few electrical wires, some junk metal, and my own welder catapulted me into action.
After awhile, people noticed my animal sculptures and suggested taking them to art shows. So, I did! Now my yearly itinerary includes about 15 shows, primarily in Oregon and Washington. Although some of my sculptures are abstract, most are inspired by nature. However, among the flowers, birds, fish, spiders, etc., there always lurk a few aliens and dragons.
People question why I enjoy working with metal and that’s an easy one to answer. I like the idea that my sculptures will be around for several lifetimes!
